The Matriarch
Her Story
Marigo Tsimbinou devastatingly lost several children as a young mother. This drove her to move from island to island in search of a home where her children would thrive. Her experience led her to become the midwife, healer, and wise woman of her small Greek village over 100 years ago. She was also my great grandmother. As a child of 9 years old, I felt something call to me when I first heard the elderly villagers recount stories of her tender care. They, themselves, had been children when she touched their lives. Marigo filled the needs of her people and left a legacy of love, support, and healing so bright, it reaches across time, countries, and waters, where I strive to continue it today.
The Midwife
My story
I'm a sun chaser, wanderluster, plant-friend, and passionate birth worker. I feel most grounded with my bare feet in the earth and my hands busy. Blessed (and sometimes stressed) to be the mother of 6 incredible and beautiful souls. Early in my years of motherhood, I felt a deep connection to my ancestors and the call to follow in Marigo's footsteps-- to fill the needs of my people and embark on the lifelong journey that is midwifery.
